Background
In 2005 UKPHA, a non-profit voluntary organisation based in Greater London, had received funding from Awards for All for an online database of news stories of the people, places and events of the Punjab Province as reported in the Victorian press.
Working alongside a private collector and the host organisation; provided consultation on a large format digital imager, optical resolution and raw file format. The work extended to oversight of volunteer imaging of news sheets, image editing and preparation of files to be shared online.
Outcome
The 500+ reproduced sheets with b&w woodblock engravings and photographs illustrate the shared heritage; especially in relation to the building of the British Empire in the second half of the 19th century.
